I doubt that increasing virtual ram will improve your performance because most games take advantage of the speed of actual ram and your hard drive is much slower (unless you have an unusually small amount of ram). Yes, increasing your virtual ram will lead to more usage of your hard drive which will lead to an earlier fail time. but you’ll probably only run into that problem if you intend on not upgrading for the next 5 – 10 years (depends on how old your current hard drive is and how reliable it is)

It wont hurt your computer but it definitely wont help it run games. Virtual memory is data that would normally be saved in RAM that is instead saved to the hard disk. Since the disk is 1000 times slower than RAM there is no speed to be gained by boosting it. Leave your virtual presets on the default setting.
